It is equipped with a hardened steel flaring cone, which is eccentrically mounted in the needle bearings. The cone produces a rolling action for an even metal flow, resulting in uniform flare walls without galling. A clutch automatically releases to iron and smooth the flare after it is completed. The 377 Flare Tool is recommended for use with soft materials such as aluminum and soft copper.
